Assessment and Reporting
St Joseph’s school adopts current best practice in assessment for, of and as learning. Evidence of learning is stored in student portfolio folders as well as on the Google Drive. As educators in a Catholic school, we believe that assessment is central to the learning cycle. We recognise the uniqueness and dignity of each individual and are committed to the development of the whole person. Therefore, the process of assessment and reporting should assist learners to recognise their capabilities and celebrate their individual gifts, so as to realise their full potential.
Reports
Formal written reports using the A-E coding system are sent home at the end of each semester (Terms 2 and 4).
Parent Teacher Interviews take place at the end of Semester 1 (Term 2). Staff provide opportunities to meet with parents throughout the year as needed.
