History
Faith, Tradition, and a Future-Focused Vision
St Joseph’s Warialda is a vibrant and progressive school, providing a high quality Catholic Education to students in the local area.
Our school motto is “Christ is our Model” and it is this founding statement that is at the heart of everything we do as a school community. St Joseph’s Warialda has been offering a high quality education to the children of Warialda for over 120 years. St Joseph’s was established on Monday 11th July 1904 by three founding sisters, Srs Camillus, Berchmans and a postulant.
Honouring Our Past, Embracing the Future
The Sisters of St Joseph’s provided a quality education from 1904 until the last Josephite principal Sr Jennifer Scally finished on the 15th December 1996. On the 17th December 1996 Miss Carmel McCosker was appointed as the first lay principal of St Joseph’s Warialda. This marked the end of an era of full time involvement of the Sisters of St Joseph within the school. The 2004 school year was a very proud moment in the history of St Joseph’s Warialda as it celebrated its Centenary. Throughout the years major building developments have taken place under many different projects and St Joseph’s now boasts an updated library, administration, COLA area and Hall.
